A Strategic Business Partner of Profiles International

As we step into the 4th quarter of 2023 there is a noticeable uptick in the number of inquiries received for our Profiles Incorporated  PXT Select product portfolio. This wide-ranging portfolio includes the PXT Select Talent Management assessment and the PXT Select Leadership Development technology, Checkpoint 360. Over the past month I have had several discussions with potential new clients that involve the common desire to retain trained employees, especially those they view as their top talent. The general thought is that they need to use an assessment to help them make better decisions and that those decisions in and of themselves will mitigate people leaving their company. Generally, people do not leave a company, they leave bad managers. For some reason, these perspectives seem to be viewed in silos and are independent of each other versus the cause and effect of a poor manager resulting in people (usually your most talented people) to leave the company.

Here are two key statistics:

  • Only about 30% of people in leadership roles are trained and qualified to be in them
  • 70% of the domestic employee base is 60% or less engaged in their job.

In addition, another key thought to keep in mind is that the domestic unemployment rate hovers around 3.5%; meaning there are about 2-3 jobs available for every person available to work.

The net impact of these statistics is a high probability of having a well-intentioned but untrained supervisor whose inexperience will negatively impact engagement level in one’s role leading to that employee looking for a new opportunity because there are a large number of available unfilled jobs in the market.

Profiles, Inc. has a great solution for you!

First, let’s use the Profiles Checkpoint 360 to begin a leadership development program to improve your leaders’ leadership capabilities. This Profiles technology measures 8 key leadership competencies, 18 key leadership skills, and 70 supporting behaviors. This is accomplished with a 15-minute assessment completed by the manager being evaluated, their boss, direct reports, peers and others. The final result of this feedback is a specific development plan based on actual results for this manager.

Now that your leaders are developing and creating that company environment for talented employees to be totally engaged, the Profiles PXT Select Talent Management System can really enhance your recruiting efforts in this low unemployment, highly competitive battle for top talent. Everyone is looking for highly skilled, experienced talent. Not all highly skilled experienced talent fits into every organization. The alignment of values and culture with those skills and experience optimize job fit. That is exactly the data the PXT Select provides you with. This should provide a competitive recruiting advantage for companies that connect these two silos and understand these concepts.

Profiles Incorporated has over 30 years of experience helping organizations develop their leaders and recruit the best talent. This, in turn, will increase employee retention for your organization. We are ready to help, give us a call today.
