John Wiley and Sons, the parent company of Profiles Incorporated, has recently released the 2022 PXT Select Assessment annual report. We believe that fully understanding how people think and work will guide hiring managers to make the best decisions and in turn, create high performing work cultures.

With the unemployment rate at a historical low of 3.5%, more and more organizations are turning to the PXT Select Talent Management System to provide a competitive advantage to attract top talent. Even with the high number of “big tech” layoffs, there continues to be more jobs than available talent.

For over 30 years, Profiles, Inc. has been in the business of providing assessments for thousands of people to help improve organizational performance. Guiding corporations to select the right people for the right jobs and developing them to their full potential can be a game changer for many companies. The PXT Select provides objective scientific data to measure JOB FIT – to predict an individual’s ability to succeed in a particular role. The JOB FIT data offers tremendous insight into the degree of alignment between a person’s characteristics and those required for the job.

Following is a brief overview of a few highlights from the attached 2022 PXT Select Annual Report.

We at Profiles, Inc. are often asked which industries best benefit from the PXT Select data? The answer to that question is any industry looking to optimize their talent by matching key individual characteristics to a specific job. While the breakdown of industries involves virtually any industry, the top two industries are:

  • 23% of our assessments find their way into the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate industries.
  • Another 19% are utilized within the Manufacturing industry.

At Profiles, Inc. we are often asked the question Which type of position will benefit from the PXT Select assessment data? Again, the answer is any position you are attempting to match key individual characteristics to a specific job – JOB FIT. In our 2022 annual report the top 2 positions most frequently using the PXT Select are sales positions at 25.2% and mid-level management positions at 12.2%

The PXT Select is backed by significant science to support the VALIDITY of our job fit results. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) developed guidelines for interpreting validity coefficients to guarantee that job fit assessments provide reliable data for hiring decisions. The DOL guideline is that when the coefficient is above .35 it is considered “Very Beneficial”. The PXT Select validity coefficients are all between .40 and .50 which exceeds all DOL guidelines! Additionally, a recent study found that using the PXT Select Job Fit assessment reduced turnover by 25% – 81% and increased productivity by as much as 30% – 112%. These are amazing stats!

In conclusion, at Profiles, Inc we have worked with hundreds of organizations to evaluate our client’s needs and find solutions to their most challenging talent resource problems. Give us a call today so we can partner with you and your organization to support your talent management needs.
